On 15 January 2026, the National Seed Association of Rwanda (NSAR) convened the Official Launch of Joint Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and the Implementation Plan, alongside the celebration of NSAR’s 10th Anniversary, at the Kigali Marriott Hotel. Held under the theme Official Launch of the Joint Collaboration Framework & Implementation Plan with Key Stakeholders,” the event brought together senior government officials, private sector actors, financial institutions, development partners, regulators, and international organizations. This milestone event underscored NSAR’s decade-long contribution to Rwanda’s seed sector and marked a strategic shift toward more structured, results-oriented collaboration.

The launch operationalised key partnerships through MoUs signed between NSAR and Bank of Kigali (BK), the Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB), the International Seed Testing Association (ISTA), and the Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA). These agreements focus on strengthening seed quality assurance, access to finance, traceability, regulatory effectiveness, and international accreditation, while reinforcing public–private collaboration. Collectively, the commitments demonstrated a strong readiness to move from strategy to implementation, positioning the seed sector as a cornerstone of Rwanda’s agricultural transformation, food security, climate resilience, and economic growth, with NSAR playing a central coordinating role.
