Kate Ojungo is the Country Representative for Kenya Seed Company Rwanda with a mandate on seed production, distribution and marketing of top-quality certified seeds with the overall objective of adding value to the agricultural business and contributing to food self-sufficiency in the national and regional Markets.

As a food entrepreneurship fellow from Wageningen University & Research (WUR-Netherlands), Strategic planner and a Master’s of Science in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT-Kenya) she brings on board an interdisciplinary approach equipped with an understanding of the social, economic and environmental factors to reach solutions based on a new understanding of complex situations that shape the seed systems.

In 2023, Kate was appointed as the Vice-Chairperson for National Seed Association of Rwanda (NSAR) having vast experience and expertise in building a consensus in trade and supporting the Seed value chains through promoting farmer access to certified seeds for food security, nutrition and sound economic growth.

Prior to joining KSC Rwanda in 2021, she was the Regional Manager in Kenya Seed Company Ltd based in Kenya with over 10years successful roles that contributed to effective collaboration and governance structures that facilitated transformational agriculture and private sector development through effective planning, action, accountability and policies for seed sector development.
